Caleb was an outstanding man in his day. When the ten fearful, faithless spies brought back a negative report about the Promised Land, Caleb still brimmed with courage— “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are WELL ABLE to overcome it” (Num. 13:30).
Caleb was old, but it was more than vigor that defined his greatness.
Caleb stood alone for the most part, but that was not his primary strength.
The thing that distinguished Caleb was his ability to sustain a faith-filled attitude among the naysayers! His body may have been in the wilderness, but his heart was in the Promised Land. The dream in his heart was bigger than the negative influence of his unbelieving counterparts. He rose above the prevailing skepticism. His WELL ABLE thinking eventually brought him into the land of Promise.
Caleb is a man we should emulate. Don’t allow the fearful and the fatalists to rob you from dreaming about a better day in Zion. With an abundant arsenal of promises at our disposal, we are WELL ABLE to believe for the return of God’s glory in His church.
Feed your faith and never lose hope. OUR GOD IS ABLE!
