Here are some indicators you may be drifting from God or beginning to spiritually slide.
- A lack of desire to worship God. You are quick to find excuses not to partake in corporate worship.
- You find yourself quick to make decisions without consulting God by examining His Word or seeking God in prayer.
- You find yourself quick to blame others for not serving Christ or doing what you should be doing for the Lord.
- You begin to tolerate sin in your life that you once confessed and forsook.
- You struggle to find joy in Christ, in His Word, and with your brothers and sisters in Christ.
- You find yourself in the state of constantly complaining instead of being thankful for all Christ has done in your life.
- You become defensive and you take it as an attack if someone expresses concern about your spiritual walk.
- You are quick to find everyone else’s faults but slow to find the ones in your own life.
- Your frequency of Bible study has been greatly diminished and your prayer life greatly weakened. Dwight L. Moody said, “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.”
- You begin to isolate from your brothers and sisters in Christ. However, you find yourself insulating yourself with the things in the world.
- Worldly things begin to take higher priority and the things of God take a back seat.
