EVERY EXIT IS AN ENTRANCE

When you got up this morning, you got out of your bed and entered the shower… When you exited the shower—you entered the kitchen… When you exited your home—you entered your car… When you got out of the car—you probably entered your workplace…

Every Exit is an Entrance. Every closing signifies a new opening. Every conclusion births a new introduction. Every ending is a beginning of something new.

Throughout life Every Exit is an Entrance:

  • When a child exits his mother’s womb, he enters childhood.
  • As a child grows, he leaves childhood and enters adolescence.
  • After adolescence, he enters mid-life.
  • Leaving mid-life, that person enters old age.
  • And when a person exits his body he enters eternity!

When you leave one stage of life, you enter another. Every Exit is an Entrance.

To get somewhere else you must leave where you are. You must depart from your current location before you can arrive at a new one. All conclusions give way to new beginnings. You must exit before you enter.

About the time you finish with one problem, another problem takes its place. And the converse is true as well, every opportunity leads to another one! December is the last month of the calendar year, and January is the first month of the New Year. As we close out last year, we must keep in mind that we are writing a new chapter. Instead of dragging the past with us, we must leave the past behind and stretch forward toward the things which are in front of us (see Philippians 3:13-14).

Today is the proof that yesterday is over. Yesterday ended at midnight. It is done and never will be repeated. God gave you today to prove that yesterday has died. So never allow a detour to become your destination. Yesterday is where you were, but it is not where you want to dwell.

Today is the most important day of your life. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may not arrive. Today is your seed for tomorrow. What you do NOW will determine the quality of your future.

Scripture commands us to “redeem the time” (Ephesians 5:16). You must intentionally determine your focus and activities for today. What you do on your ordinary days is preparation for your extraordinary tomorrows. If you want to retire comfortably, today is important. If you want a harvest, today is the time to sow your seed. If you want to be blessed, get busy blessing others now. If you want friends, be friendly today. If you want a better job, work hard now and prepare. If you want to know God better; study, ask, and seek Him today.

Here we are exiting 2024 and entering 2025. I believe there is validity to “living in the moment.” In fact, everyone lives in the moment. The question is, “Are you investing productively today for a better tomorrow?”

Where you are tomorrow depends on what you dream about today. But dreams must be accompanied by actions. Here are three important actions you can do TODAY…

  • Pray
  • Plan
  • Prepare
