Someone
described the three stages of married life as: LUST, RUST, AND DUST.
While this may seem a bit blunt, there seems to be an element of
truth in this
depiction. Shaky marriages have become the norm. Since we are living
in a day of marital instability, we must intentionally STABILIZE
our homes.
In order to stabilize our homes, we must also STRENGTHEN the things
that remain. Atrophy sets in when muscles go unused. Lack of exercise
results in weakness. Exercising Biblical principles is the way to
strengthen the marriage relationship.
The only remedy once the rust stage sets in is a fresh STIRRING
of the heartstrings. Special times together are sometimes needed
to regain the proper perspective.
Getting away from the grind of the daily routine in a lovely place
like Colonial Williamsburg may be just what your marriage needs.
